I sent out eighteen rejection letters to the agents of the gatekeepers. Then I looked closer at the Guide to Literary Agents (30th Edition) book and realized I mass emailed writer conferences not agents.
Lucky them.
Step by step the world you make, catches up to you with a snap of the slate
Dear Agent,
Fresh spin on classic tropes? Got it. Gate-keeping to lull the readers? Indeed. A rejection is what I need from you for my first novel, so please consider skimming through it with a sly smile. I’d like to offer my “DRAGONS RULEZ the NIGHT” for your cursory glance and half-hearted laugh.
It will fit within your interest, but the interest of the government far outweighs your opinion, according to them, so, therefore, stop reading this query letter right here and hit the delete button.
For those of you who haven’t, DRAGON RULEZ THE NIGHT, is the direct sequel to Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Yes, you heard that right. What’s lacking from Dracula’s story? Dracula himself—his point of view is omitted and is utterly non-existent in the original.
Albert Kivak changes that ennui. Albert Kivak is the one everyone rejects, so when he decided to write the sequel, gatekeepers promptly banned him, mirroring real life. From the perspective of new characters meeting the old, Dracula and Carmella, DRAGON OWNZ THE NIGHT depicts a timeline forty years into the future, where we see how they actually escaped and are still alive, seeking vengeance together as a couple. A vampiric situationship that parallels a love story like Gone with the Wind and Parasite, the blood of vampires cures cancer. When Florin finds out that her daughter’s cancer has disappeared, she goes on a hunt, a mission to locate the source of the panacea, an elixir of wine and golden goblets.
Albert Kivak holds a B.A. in Creative Writing from CalStateNorthridge and has articles posted with the Freemasons, who pretended to be publishers and unknowingly got his pieces published by them—nothing wrong with that, unless they’re using it to sully or besmirch my name. You might get a visit from them one day, telling you to cut me off permanently.
Without further ado, Albert Kivak has built an online audience of roughly one million subscribers in 2028. You can check him out at Albert Kivak’s cult reading.
Thanks for your time and consideration.
Cold Regards,
K. Ultra
